Staff have commented it would be really helpful if when looking at completed workflows via MSR, for example an AN Contact, that they could see any previous answers that ever existed for that question. They argue that if a contact was hand written, the previous response would have a strikethrough to denote a correction. They argue they cannot see amendments electronically and fear this is a risk. The wouldn't necessarily need to see the name, date and time, just the response and perhaps in red. Such as Gender: Male : Female I'm not 100% if this is a great idea, as these amendments would also be visible to the patient on either a print out or when they have access via the Patient Portal, unless this could be dealt with.
Hi Kelly,
The Management Summary Report displays a chronological overview of the patients AN Contacts visible on the front page of her record. These are used as a 'quick review' with the full summary being visible when drilling down further into the MSR. You may not use the MSR. Our contact can be 'shared' when calling on an Obstetrician at the same contact. We all seem to work in slightly different ways, therefore, what works for one Trust may not work for another.
Can you clarify what MSR is please? When we use Antenatal Contact we have two options, one for our Day Unit and one for our Triage. On each visit we create a new contact and the amount of answers that are pre - answered are minimal. I currently work in the area that uses antenatal contact and we have never needed to change an answer nor have other midwives expressed a wish to. I wonder whether we use our Antenatal Contact in the same manner as we only view it via E3.
I also agree with your concerns that this may appear on a print out or be visible by the woman.
