Current Pregnancy - Screening Tests - Offered but undecided
Can anyone advise whether a change to the following would affect MDS at all?
Current Pregnancy Questionnaire For the questions ‘Downs Syndrome screening’ and the ‘Combined Screening Test’ removing the answers ‘Offered but undecided’
Hi Claire - this is what we do at Blackpool. If the woman decides to have screening after the first booking date, we alter the answer from undecided to accepted and enter the type of screening (often Quadruple testing). If the woman is asked again and she definitely declines, then we record it on Euroking as being declined. This ensures that our returns to Public Health England are accurate. So the midwives review the "undecided" answer once they have a definite accept/decline. Even if you remove the answer altogether, it shouldn't affect Maternity Data Sets but I have asked Tom Latham at NHS Digital to confirm this for us.
